Home battery warranty comparison: all 17 models in one table
Every home battery warranty document we could obtain, read line by line: the term, the throughput cap, the capacity floor, and the conditions attached.
Our warranty guide explains what the terms mean: why a year count, a usage cap and a retention floor are three different promises, and which one binds for which kind of owner. This page does not repeat any of that. It is the table.
Every row starts from the manufacturer's datasheet, which is what our battery database records. Anything beyond that comes from the maker's own published warranty document, read August 19, 2026 and named in the last column. Where nothing is published, the cell says not published rather than carrying an estimate. We have not tested any of these products.

What the warranty documents add that the datasheets do not
The gap between a spec sheet and a warranty letter is the most useful thing on this page, because buyers are shown the first and rarely handed the second.
Five retention floors appear only in the warranty document. FranklinWH's datasheet gives 15 years or 60 MWh; the warranty adds that capacity retention "will be not less than 70% of the rated capacity." Generac's spec guide gives 10 years or 7.56 MWh per module; the warranty adds "Capacity retention guarantee at the end of the warranty period: At least 70% of nameplate rating." SolarEdge's datasheet states a ten year term; the warranty adds 70 percent retention at the end of it. Enphase's IQ Battery 10C datasheet states 60 percent at up to 15 years; the newer warranty adds a 70 percent step at year ten. Anker's datasheet gives ten years limited; the warranty policy attaches 16.45 MWh at 60 percent end of life.
One throughput cap appears only in the warranty document. LG's spec page states the term and the 70 percent figure. The warranty adds "a total operation limit of 59.8 MWh," applying to both the five year standard period and the ten year extended one.
One maker publishes a throughput table rather than a number. Fortress Power's warranty prints total energy throughput by depth of discharge for the eVault Max 18.5: 87.2 MWh at 80 percent DOD, 48.9 MWh at 90 percent, 36.3 MWh at 100 percent. It is the only document here that makes the dependency explicit, and it needs one caveat. By our own arithmetic those figures do not reconcile with the cycle counts printed beside them: 8,000 cycles at 80 percent depth on an 18.43 kWh battery is considerably more energy than 87.2 MWh, and 3,000 cycles at 100 percent is more than 36.3 MWh. The two sets rest on different assumptions rather than one being wrong, and whichever limit arrives first governs. What depth of discharge does to the size of a cycle is in depth of discharge.
Two documents cover a different product than the one we track. BYD's US limited warranty V1.3 covers HVL 12.0 through 32.0 and HVM-US 8.3 through 22.1, with a per-model throughput table and a 70 percent retention figure at ten years. None of those models is the HVS system our datasheet describes. Qcells is in the same position: its published limited warranty covers Q.HOME CORE G3 and Q.HOME HUB G3, a different generation from the configuration on our page. In both cases the numbers exist, and they are not the numbers for the product in our table.
The conditions that quietly shorten a term
Almost every warranty in this set is conditional on something administrative, and three conditions recur.
Internet connection. Tesla states that if the Powerwall is offline for an extended period it may not be able to honor the full ten years, though it will always honor at least four years from installation. FranklinWH sends a notification after 90 consecutive days offline and states that if connectivity is not restored, "the warranty period will automatically be reduced to a four-year limited warranty from the initial installation date." Generac's reduced floor is at least five years for the inverter, PWRmanager and battery cabinet, and at least five years or 3.78 MWh per battery module. SolarEdge is blunter: "If the SolarEdge Home Battery 400V is not connected to SolarEdge Monitoring Portal, SolarEdge will not be able to honor this Limited Warranty." Panasonic may void coverage if a lack of connectivity prevents it confirming the system was used within permitted temperature and voltage ranges. Qcells excludes faults arising from "Failure of the Product to maintain online connectivity continuously for at least 24 hours within any twenty five (25) calendar day period."
Registration. FranklinWH states that systems not registered at installation "will only be eligible for a four-year limited warranty from the installation date." LG's second five years exists only for systems registered with ThinQ and connected to the internet. Enphase conditions coverage on registration within 45 days, with a carve-out for California, Connecticut and any other state that forbids registration as a condition of coverage. EG4 requires registration within the first year. Generac's warranty begins on successful online registration.
Who is dispatching the battery. SolarEdge limits the warranty to a maximum energy throughput of 26 MWh "In the case of 3rd party management of SolarEdge Home Battery 400V," against unlimited cycles for standard solar use. Tesla's structure has the same shape: unlimited cycles for solar self-consumption, time-based control and backup, and a 37.8 MWh cap measured at the battery AC output for "any application not listed above, or any combination of applications that includes one not listed above." Whether a given utility program falls inside those lists is a question for the manufacturer in writing.
What a term length does not tell you
Two things the year count hides, both of which decide what a claim actually costs you.
Labor and travel. Generac covers parts, labor and limited travel on every PWRcell component, with travel capped at 100 miles and three hours round trip from the nearest authorized dealer. Tesla reimburses reasonable labor costs to a Tesla Certified Installer performing warranty work. Panasonic makes labor an optional coverage, available only where an Authorized Installer did the work and the system was registered within 90 days. Enphase excludes labor for un-installing and re-installing outright. Fortress states its warranty "does not cover the cost of installation, removal, shipping, or reinstallation."
How a claim is settled. Several makers reserve the right to pay a depreciated amount rather than replace the unit. Qcells publishes a schedule that falls from 100 percent residual value within the first two years to 5 percent between years ten and eleven and zero after year fourteen. EG4's replacement warranty is "prorated 1/10th per year after the first year at the current retail pricing." Enphase, FranklinWH and Anker all reserve a refund "less reasonable depreciation" as an alternative remedy. A ten year term settled on a depreciation schedule is a different product from a ten year term settled by replacement.
The counterparty
Every document in the last column is a promise from a company. SunPower's SunVault carried a ten year warranty and its OEM support was disrupted after the 2024 bankruptcy, which is the clearest reminder here that a term and a remedy are two different things. BYD reaches US homes largely through the solar installer channel, so for most homeowners the warranty relationship runs through the installer who specified the system. Ask who administers a claim before you buy, not at the point of failure.
