The calculator

The Worth It? calculator runs entirely in your browser. Your state selection, bill band, goal, solar status, and backup load preferences are used only to compute your result on the page. None of that input is transmitted to our servers or stored anywhere. There is no account, no email field, and no cookie set by the calculator itself.

Analytics and measurement

This site uses Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel to measure traffic and aggregate usage patterns (pages visited, calculator completion rate, referral sources). These tools use cookies and device identifiers to count visits and understand how readers find and use the site.

Meta may also use pixel data for ad measurement and attribution purposes on its platforms. We do not share calculator inputs or results with either service beyond aggregate event counts. The calculator does not collect your name, email, or contact information in v1.

These measurement scripts load only when the site is configured with measurement IDs. If no IDs are configured, no scripts load and no data is collected. Vercel may also collect standard server-side request logs (IP address, user agent, referring URL) for operational and security purposes under their own privacy policy.

Affiliate links

We do not currently run affiliate links or earn installer-match fees. If we add them, we will disclose the relationship plainly on any page where it applies, those links may set the destination site's own cookies and tracking (which we do not control), and we will never change a rating or recommendation based on an affiliate deal.

Installer match (coming in a future version)

A vetted-installer matching feature is planned for a future release. When that feature launches, it will involve sharing contact information with participating installers, and this policy will be updated with the details before that feature goes live. In v1 there is no form, no email collection, and no installer referral data transfer.

Data selling

We do not sell, rent, or trade any user data to any third party.
