Home Battery Incentive Finder
Enter your ZIP code to see the home-battery incentives you may be able to use: the honest federal picture plus your state's rebates and programs. This is a starting point, not an eligibility ruling. Confirm every amount with the administrator before you count on it.
Utility programs are listed for your state but not yet matched to your exact provider, so some may not serve your address. Always confirm with the administrator or DSIRE.
How the Incentive Finder works
- 1Enter your ZIP code. The Incentive Finder matches it to your state.
- 2See the honest federal picture and your state's rebates, performance payments, and utility programs, each with its source and date.
- 3Confirm the details with the program administrator, then run your real numbers in the calculator.
Incentive Finder FAQ
Is there a federal tax credit for a home battery in 2026?
Not for a cash purchase. The homeowner credit (Section 25D) ended December 31, 2025, so buying outright in 2026 earns no federal credit. The 30 percent survives only through a lease or power-purchase agreement, where the third-party owner claims Section 48E and may pass some savings through as a lower payment.
Why does the Incentive Finder ask for a ZIP instead of my full address?
Incentives are set at the state and, sometimes, the utility level. Your ZIP is enough to place you in a state and show that state's programs plus the federal picture. Utility programs are listed but not yet matched to your exact provider, so confirm the utility serves your address before counting on one.
What does "programs you may be able to use" mean?
It is a starting point, not an eligibility ruling. Every program has its own rules, funding windows, and enrollment steps. Confirm current status and amounts with the administrator or DSIRE before you count on any figure.
My ZIP was not found. What happened?
Some ZIP codes, such as PO-box-only ones, are not in the Census area map the tool uses. Pick your state from the list instead to see its programs.
How current are the incentive figures?
Program data reflects the November 2025 DSIRE export plus a vendored table of virtual power plant programs, refreshed in manual waves. Programs change often, so verify current status with the administrator or DSIRE.
How do I actually claim an incentive?
Confirm with the administrator that funding is open and that you qualify before you count on any figure. If you confirm a purchase rebate, you can fold it into your net upfront cost when you run the numbers, not your annual savings, so the payback math stays honest. Verify amounts and eligibility with the program itself, not this tool.
Do you take money from installers or manufacturers?
No. The Home Battery Report is independent and takes no installer or manufacturer money to change a verdict.
